Trying To Prove Yourself In Sales Doesn’t Make Your Prospect More Interested

Trying To Prove Yourself In Sales Doesn’t Make Your Prospect More Interested

Trying to prove yourself in sales doesn’t make your prospect more interested.

It makes them less interested.

For example, if a new prospect asks, “Why should I work with you?”

Don’t type out a list of reasons on why they should work with you.

Instead, say something like:

“Good question. I don’t think I know enough about you yet, so I’m not sure if working together would make sense or not. Would you mind telling me more about X so I can better understand you and your situation? If we figure out working together might be a good fit, I’ll be more than happy to elaborate on how we could help!”

With this script, you’re not trying to prove yourself.

AND, you also aren’t dismissive.

Try it out and let me know your thoughts.
